We are a family business built on the principles of authenticity and quality, and we take great pride in perfecting our expertise using sustainable business practices. As the first sustainable contract distillery in the UK, we understand the value of developing reliable business practices and processes, and maintaining great relationships with our clients, producers and employees.
At our distillery in Kent we offer full contract distilling services in-house, including recipe development and re-creation, distilling, fermenting, storage, and bottling and labelling. We have built our state of the art distillery with equipment sourced from the best manufacturers in the industry, which enables us to offer a wide variety of services to a diverse client base.
The UK's Sustainable Contract Distillery
We are passionate about running a fully sustainable business, and have created our own unique processes which reduce our impact on the environment to almost zero. We will be a carbon-neutral business by the end of 2023, and are able to offer our clients carbon offsetting on site.
Our processes are designed as a circular system, reducing our water consumption and waste production by 90%, and our power is produced using 100% renewable sources. With a clear mind, we think our spirits taste even more delicious!

Founder & CEO
My name is Seb, and I am the CEO here at Pleasant Land Distillery. I have always enjoyed a good tipple, but my career started in the Royal Navy, where I spent 6 years travelling across the globe. One constant I observed while being so far from home on these voyages: everywhere I went, sharing a drink brought people together, no matter their culture or nationality.
For the past 8 years I have been learning all there is to know about wine and spirits, completing my apprenticeship in wine, followed by studying at the Institute of Brewers & Distillers. I have worked in Austria, South Africa and London, before finally landing in Kent and starting the first sustainable contract distillery here in the UK.
I designed our contract distillery to service every level of the industry, from small batch distilling projects for individuals to large volume distilling, bottling, labelling and storage for established companies.
Our Site
Solar panels power our distillery, and our steam is created by biomass, which we will be producing on site by pelletising waste and windfall wood, dried by capturing waste heat from the distillation process.
Pleasant Land Distillery is based on Bank Farm, which is part of a big regenerative agriculture and blockchain assured carbon offsetting project called Re-Generation Earth. This aims to offset as much of our carbon emissions as possible. We are engaged in a range of interesting waste management techniques including black soldier fly larvae growth, Vermicomposting and Bokashi fermentation.
